Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Shri Ganesh are worshiped on this day and the story of Karvachauth Vrat is heard. Normally, this fast is done continuously for 12 or 16 years after marriage, but married people can keep this fast for a lifetime as per their wish. It is believed that there is no better fast than this for the long life of her husband.
